Where better to begin than the beginning.

 Before I introduce the first Flower Talk series speakers, I wanted to share with you why I would attend. This series will become more specific as the months roll on but right now, it’s as open and as welcoming as it can be — both to those who have yet to put an arrangement together and to those who want to push things over the line from enthusiast to professional.

To that end, the beginning of the year will start with a talk about the beginnings of becoming a florist with The Bath Flower School.

Saffron Dodds and Verity Porter have joined equally impressive forces to establish the Bath Flower School. With a refreshing approach, they’ve compiled a contemporary, current and sustainable curriculum of floral design and technical understanding.

Based on decades of experience, from the traditional to the avant-garde, they’ll give a balanced and inspired talk on getting in to floristry and all that it entails.

To give you a little taster; it won’t be all talk. Saffron and Verity will be demonstrating their take on a sustainable, asymmetrical gathering of fresh flowers in a floral compote.
